Community guidelines
Keep it kind, keep it vague, keep it fun.
A pseudonym gives you room to be honest. It doesn't give you room to hurt someone. A good test: if a colleague could work out who your post is about, change it.
What isn't allowed
- Private information. No doxxing, personal phone numbers, home addresses or other private data.
- Harassment. No threats, intimidation, discrimination or targeted sexual content.
- Impersonation and rumours. No pretending to be someone else, no malicious rumours, no defamatory allegations.
- Confidential information. No company secrets, customer details, security procedures or operationally sensitive information.
- Targeting a colleague. No content that identifies or targets a colleague without their consent. A crush post stays vague enough that nobody could be picked out.
Speak the way you'd want to be spoken to
ನುಡಿದರೆ ಮುತ್ತಿನ ಹಾರದಂತಿರಬೇಕು — when you speak, let it be like a string of pearls. Basavanna wrote that eight centuries ago, and it still works as a posting rule. Disagree with ideas, never with people. Joke with each other, not about each other.
Polls and feedback
Every room can run polls. Each person gets one vote per poll, and votes are final, so think before you tap. In the Polls room, each person also gets one comment per poll, so the loudest voice doesn't drown out the rest.
The Feedback room is for ideas that make work, or this community, better. Be specific about the problem and kind about the people.
How to report something
Every post and comment has a Report action. Choose a reason and add a note if it helps. The author isn't told who reported them. To ask for something to be removed without opening the community, or for the whole site to come down, use Report and takedown.
What happens next
When three different people report something, it's hidden automatically until an admin reviews it. Admins can restore or remove content, and they record a reason for each decision.
